Description
Les Charmes is one of the most renowned lieux-dit within Morgon, known for its sandy, granitic soils and south-east facing Gamay vines aged between 35 and 60 years. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand after parcel selection and sorted using a vibrating table. Following traditional vinification in concrete vats using wild yeasts present on the grape skins, the wine is aged for 6 months and bottled after light filtration. The wine boasts a deep red hue and an aroma infused with cherry compote and star anise, while the palate is densely fruity with well-structured tannins. This wine pairs perfectly with Beef Bourguignon, roasted leg of lamb, charcuterie, and semi-soft cheese such as Livarot or Saint-Marcellin.
