Description
Altéa – Lussac Saint-Émilion
Altéa is the flagship cuvée of the Vignerons de Lussac, made from carefully selected vineyard parcels and crafted to express the best of the appellation. Since its first vintage, Altéa has reflected a commitment to tradition, precision, and balance.
The vineyards face the Saint-Émilion plateau and sit on clay-limestone soils, producing wines that are fresh and approachable in youth, yet capable of ageing gracefully. Despite a warm, dry growing season, careful vineyard monitoring ensured optimal ripeness, resulting in a wine that combines concentration with finesse.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel with gentle extraction to preserve fruit purity and fine tannins, followed by natural malolactic fermentation for a smooth, rounded texture. The wine is aged for 12 months in a mix of new and one-year-old oak barrels, adding subtle notes of toast and vanilla while maintaining freshness and clarity.
Elegant, balanced, and expressive, Altéa is a versatile Lussac Saint-Émilion suited to both immediate enjoyment and further development in bottle.
